It will be helpful if some of you could relate how you were first diagnosed with IBS/IBD or any other Bowel condition. What were your presenting symptoms? What tests were carried out? Who gave you the verdict? What has been your experience since? |

Ulcerative colitis
Ulcerative colitis is an inflammatory disease of the large intestine, or colon. In ulcerative colitis, the inner lining (mucosa) of the intestine becomes inflamed (red and swollen) and develops ulcers (open, painful wounds). Ulcerative colitis is often the most severe in the rectal area, which can cause frequent diarrhoea. |

Circadian rhythms
Circadian rhythms are the physical, mental, and behavioural changes an organism experiences over a 24-hour cycle. Light and dark have the biggest influence on circadian rhythms. In humans, nearly every tissue and organ has its own circadian rhythm, and collectively they are tuned to the daily cycle of day and night. |
