An airline pilots experience An example of misdiagnosis involves a pilot who was unable to pass his annual medical certification due to irregular heartbeats shown in his EKG (ECG) report.
He was instructed to visit a cardiologist, undergo various tests, and start taking heart medication. After several months, he needed to be retested and submit his results to determine if his licence would be reinstated. His initial EKG (ECG) is displayed below.

He was fortunate to consult a dentist about his severe sleep apnoea, who provided a suitable device. The patient soon noticed that his heart rate and blood pressure stabilised.
He chose to visit the airline cardiologist again, who was amazed to see that his EKG (ECG) had returned to normal, with his sinus rhythm fully restored. As a result, he regained his licence.

Many might find this link surprising. However, we have repeatedly demonstrated on this forum the connection between cranio-dental and skeletal symmetry and the various symptoms patients experience.
Please be aware that an irregular heartbeat, as indicated by the initial EKG (ECG), can lead to atrial fibrillation, which may cause clot formation and result in a stroke. This condition can necessitate lifelong medication, which only manages symptoms rather than healing the underlying issue, allowing the heart's condition to progressively worsen.
Patients' grasp of their health status is essential. Regrettably,
healthcare providers frequently fail to recognise the link between oral dental and jaw symmetry and cardiovascular well-being. This oversight restricts patients' knowledge, preventing them from seeing the importance of dental check-ups in detecting possible heart conditions.
It is crucial to understand that no heart medication can restore a normal heartbeat. From what I know, this pilot will not be able to get his licence back under the current system of drug-based symptomatic relief. To illustrate, I examined another case where a woman was diagnosed with heart issues and put on strong medication to manage her heart function. Following a visit to a dentist and subsequent dental treatment, her heart condition saw significant improvement, rendering the heavy medication unnecessary. It turned out that her heart problem stemmed from a severe gum infection that had been missed earlier.
These examples highlight the importance for doctors and cardiologists to adopt a more holistic approach in their diagnostic procedures, extending beyond just prescribing heart medications.
Integrating oral and dental health assessments into cardiology practice should be a standard practice.Studies indicate that a more innovative approach to medical diagnosis is warranted. Evidence shows that problems in areas like dental health can affect heart function and lead to irregularities in cardiac activity. Rather than hastily prescribing medication, it is crucial to evaluate patients comprehensively and consider all possible factors contributing to their health concerns.
