TMJ 'dysfunction' - Health implications

This is probably the first symptom that takes you to see your doctor, it was for Ella who was diagnosed with visual migraine at the age of 15. It was not until she was 21 that she obtained the MS diagnosis. Recently we have found that it is not just MS that has optic neuritis as a presenting factor. Intracranial Hypertension (IH) also presents with a similar symptom, not supprising really as Intracranial Hypertension is caused by some constriction of the transverse sinus within the brain, here is a link to a site where images of the retina/optic nerve can be seen to show the typical pale disc which is a tell tale sign of what neurologists like to call Multiple Sclerosis... We are not a million miles away from CCSVI in IH.

Dear Dr Amir,
I am really pleased that we are still able to correspond with you. I was offline through technical problems when all this blew up. It is so sad that people feel so threatened by something that might explain their condition. We at MS-CCSVI-UK have experienced similar things. I am in the middle of writing a report about the reasons why I think CCSVI has been so poorly received in this country. I feel that people invest their trust in neurologists they think may help them and are unwilling to do the research and outside the envelope thinking that is required if we are going to find the answers to some of our most devastating neurological disease.
The only people who have taken TMJ and spine alignment seriously in this country (apart from you and a few other brave orthodentists) are the people at the Essential Health Clinic. Even the vascular surgeon who performed the CCSVI treatment suggested that my daughter consult a person such as yourself. Tom Craig their physiotherapist demostrated to my daughter the effect dental and cervical treatment could have for her. I yet have to convince her of putting herself through more treatment and upheaval but I think it will come.

I had an episode of optic neuritis after the birth of my son. By the time I got to the specialists' appointment, it was already fading. I had the vision tests and was told that this just sometimes happens and often goes away by itself although it could possibly be an indication of a demyelinating disease but it it doesn't get worse, don't worry. Well, I didn't worry since my vision was already returning. We moved into a stairmaster of a home where I started falling and my legs were heavy. The optic neuritis never returned.
